Your hair, your eyes, your old Levi's

Work yesterday was tired. Really tired. And I rarely feel tired from work, coz frankly speaking, work is a breeze most of the time. But yesterday was crazy and everything just wasn't right. What with the cake freezer exploded and the dipwells being choked.

I just wanted to stop entertaining the customers and just screamed out loud. Or maybe just drop dead and don't care about everything else. Or maybe have magic to do everything for me.

But no, I didn't do any of that, so we had to do everything slowly, and entertain the slightest request of any customer with a smile. It's getting really taxing on me. I need a break.

Pause. Breathe. Smile. Yup, that's exactly what I did the whole night to everybody who came to Ben & Jerry's.

Well, the day before wasn't so bad. Fizah and Muzz dropped by at my work place with their crazy friends, who come to think of it, I can't remember any of their names.

It was nice to see Fizah again after a really long time :)

I'm gonna get in trouble, I wanna start a fight

Things you need to take note of before you embarrass yourself at Ben & Jerry's.

1. The flavour of the ice-cream is Strawberry Cheesecake, NOT Strawberry Shortcake!
Seriously, if you can't even figure out the difference between a cartoon character and an ice-cream flavour and you're in your late twenties, you should just be exiled.

2. It's hot fudge and caramel, NOT hot fludge and camarel.
Hello?! It's nowhere near a tongue twister so I totally can't pardon you not being able to pronounce those two.

3. One of our toppings is chocolate rice, NOT chocolate chip.
There is a reason, why they are called rice and chip respectively. LOOK before you speak people!

4. If you don't know how to pronounce the flavours, then DON'T. Just point at the ice-cream, it's enough for the scoopy.
For the record, Phish Food is pronounced as Fish Food, and not Pish Food. And Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz, it's DEFINITELY not pronounced as Coffee Coffee Booze Booze Booze (??!!) Most of our scoopies are not even legal yet!

5. We offer a choice of either hot fudge or caramel for the wet topping for your sundaes, so when we ask which one, don't go yeah.
Another pointer. LISTEN before you speak.

Hmm, I think that's about it. Please take note. Take it from someone who cares.

By the way people, Ben & Jerry's isn't a coffee house, in case some haven't realised, coz apparently there are some. Especially for the outlet at Raffles City, I strongly recommend you to buy your hot drinks from Starbucks, Gloria Jeans or even Ya Kun Kaya Toast. Don't buy from us, coz we are not professionally trained to make really nice coffee for the $4 that you are paying.

Another thing, Ben & Jerry's offer a wide, and I mean a WIDE variety of flavours. So don't come here, just to order a plain strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. Trust me, it's also not worth your money.

Oh one more, at Raffles City, there is a provision shop right next to the UOB bank and there's also Jason's Marketplace. So don't come to Ben & Jerry's just to buy our mineral water that costs $2. Need I mention that it's not worth the money also?

Gosh, I'm so getting fired.

Sometimes happiness, Sometimes sadness

Happy Chinese New Year to those who celebrate, and Happy Holidays to those who are simply just taking advantage of the holiday, especially to those NS men, haha.

I worked with Nan yesterday, and that's because we are the only non-chinese at RC. I don't exactly mind coz there was DOUBLE PAY! Yup, as simple as that. Shop was supposed to open at 3pm, but knowing us, we opened it way way later.

RC was super quiet yesterday that it was really weird, coz RC is usually hectic with all the office people. And yesterday was also Nan's first day back after months! I totally missed working with that girl. Working with her is so easy and fun :)

Later that evening, a new girl, Prema (as in Prem, but with an A at the back), joined us. It was her first/second day at work? So yeah, I had to work with 2 "newbies" yesterday.

By 9pm-ish, there weren't alot of people walking around in RC anymore. Wait, there were like NOBODY around actually, so we decided to close the shop way earlier than usual. I thought sales was pretty good for a Chinese New Year anyways.

So when we were busy closing, Midah and Farhan decided to pop by after their meet up. I was actually invited but I had work. Seriously you guys, the nature of my job is such that I can't go for all these last minute meet ups, sorry.

So yeah, I made them help us with closing so that we could finish fast and leave the place. And they actually did helped without complaining much. Thank you so much you guys! And Farhan, nice hairdo, hah.

So left the place and all of us needed to go to the toilet, so Nan actually brought us to this toilet at the other end of RC. Oh. My.God. Is the toilet gorgeous or is the toilet gorgeous! Midah and Nan even camwhored for awhile.

We split ways after that at the mrt station and went home.

The world is really really small. Nan and Prema realised on their first day of working together that they have common friends. Prema and Farhan (??!!) realised that Farhan's NS buddy is a friend of Prema. Midah actually knows someone whom I thought only Farhan and I know.

And it gets complicated from then on, sigh. All of us need to widen our social circle, seriously.

Oh Nan? The Dove conditioner is working! Wait, or isit too early to tell?

Anyways, went home, showered, ate and I watched "Qabil Khusry Qabil Igam". Omg that show is so depressing? Ok, maybe that's coz I watched the last hour of it. Apparently the front part was happier and funnier. But seriously, the ending was super sad. So many people died and some of died due to accidents.

Talk about drama!

All night long

Yesterday, the day started clumsy. As in literally. Ethel and I just couldn't get anything right. At work, we kept dropping stuff, she burnt herself and we got kinda reprimanded by the manager.

After work, it got better. Ethel and I were invited by Ryan, Jay and Dickson to go to this gathering that they were having. I was abit apprehensive at first, coz I didn't know what to expect there, but it turned out alright...actually, it was way more than alright!

Everybody at the gathering was friendly and they all made an effort to make us feel comfortable. I couldn't even keep track on how many people who asked us whether we wanted more food. And they actually served us the food, so basically Ethel and I didn't have to leave our spot. And we kept getting introduced to so many people, that I couldn't really remember their names now, come to think of it.

I would actually want to go for this gathering again, and it's a good thing that it's being conducted every month. Surprisingly enough, I had loads of fun by the end of the day and would want to meet them again soon.

And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street

Have you ever look in the mirror and see a nicer side of you and you wonder why are you so va-va-voom most of the time? And most of the time, for no particular reason?

And you wonder whether you are like some people...all bitch face but maybe you ain't tt mean inside. And sometimes you don't know who you are. And all those bitch talk - you wonder whether they are real or plain bogus.

And the next thing that naturally happens is that, you try to make a resolution to smile that extra smile and be patient whenever necessary, though you know that it won't last long. So you just give up, and you're back to square one, Ms Bitchy once again. Pfft.

But maybe, just a BIG maybe, some people just don't deserve all that shit from you. And you know it.

Gosh, a long walk in the evening does help to clear the cluttered mind :)

There's a thing that they can't touch

I'm kinda sleepy and probably a teeny bit drunk from the iced teh tarik, so pardon me.

The thing about friends, and I mean real friends...not those that you call friends or best friends or whatever, just for the sake of it...they can be really alike and different from you at the same time. Which I like, and something that I think is really important.

There are some things about you that you want to share with other people. I mean, wouldn't it be nice if you and your close friends listen to the same songs, like the same singers, so you can go concerts and gigs together?

But there are other areas, where you just want those issues or stuff to just be associated just with you. It's like they are your things. And it isn't necessary for your close friends to like them. Heck, they can hate them, whatever. But it's ok. Coz you feel unique coz this is one of the things that make you stand out from the rest.

I like the fact that I still watches Disney shows and am totally crazy about Justin Timberlake. And I like the fact that my friends do like them, but not to my extreme. Which is good.

I like the fact that Farhana loves all these songs that i never heard of. She particularly likes Barney...as in the "How I Met Your Mother" Barney and not the "Barney is a dinosaur" Barney...She has different tastes in men, those nerdy and cute types, which I find kinda adorable. But it's ok. I don't have to watch shows she watches, I don't even bother to listen songs she listens, coz this is her "territory". Gettit?

And I also like the fact that Midah likes the emo rock songs and goes crazy...and i mean CRAZY!...listening to them, while i will be sitting one corner just looking at her being so her. She's so carefree and vivacious. And she's so lit-ish, you know...well, so is Farhana.

Which is ok. It's fine. For all these differences define who we are. It's what make us...well, US!

So, to those poseurs out there, can you start finding your identity now?

Justin with specs.

I like men with specs, provided they look intellectual with them!

There's only two types of people in the world, The ones that entertain and the ones that observe

First, there was Shah Iskandar.
Then, there was Utt.
Yesterday, there was Haizad Imran.

I like RC Ben & Jerry's :)

~

Sometimes, listening to other people's conversations, or even mine sometimes, make me realise that we can all create The Hills, Singaporean version.

How cool is that? I want to be Whitney!

And down the waterfall, wherever it may take me

It's interesting how our moods sometimes are determined by the people around us. Like when someone in the gang is feeling all moody and black, it tends to rub off and spoil our mood sometimes.

I worked with a totally mega high girl just now. I was pretty stressed at first because she's Tk's cousin (hur hur...) but it turned out to be pretty ok. In fact, i think i got really positive the entire night thanks to her!

Someone like me, who is born cynical or just like that due to habit, whatever you pick...finds it really tough to be nice to people sometimes. It's just not in our nature. And for us, it takes a lot of effort to smile that extra bit and to not give nasty remarks.

But tonight, I must say that I was a totally different person. I was some nice saint with an invisible halo on top of my head who has no other motive in this world except to serve the people. Which is kinda freaky, come to think about it. But yeah that was what happened.

Maybe, just maybe, there really is a nice side to me that has yet to be explored. Hmm...

The wars' going on but the reasons' undercover

It's ridiculous to see footage on tv showing children badly hurt and realising that nobody is doing anything to save them. To see their small limp bodies and thinking that they probably have no idea what is going on except for experiencing the excruciating pain.

Going against Israel is like going against the big bully in school. Once you disagree with whatever they are saying, then you will be the next target. I understand why Singapore isn't doing anything about this...well not much atleast. Coz if Singapore is to openly condemn the Israel's doing then we probably won't get our war supply anymore.

To hell with the difference in religion. To hell with the long enmity. Whatever happened to humanity? Don't the Israeli soldiers or their officers bear any guilt on their shoulders?

And those big officers who conduct all these peace-making meetings. I don't see any positive outcome from all that! While you guys are in an air-conditioned room, probably full from lunch, the people of Palestine are battling for their lives. It's just ridiculous!

Isn't one of the rules for wars is to not kill the public, especially the women and the children? Then what the hell is going on here.

The last time i checked, which was last night, 517 people have died and 25% of them are the people of the public.

You morons, I'll see you in hell.

~

Everybody has different sides to themselves. Nobody is either entirely black or white. We are all shades of grey.

Just because one is nice to a certain friend, doesn't mean that person is an angel whoe doesn't cuss. Just because another person is mean to his/her friend, doesn't mean that he/she goes around scowling to everyone.

The way we behave, it all depends on the people around us and the situation we are in.

Alter ego? I'm not too sure about that coz if that's the case then all of us will have an alter ego named Sasha Fierce. And wouldn't that be weird?

~

And i can't wait for Justin Timberlake's birthday :) Can you wait for it, you person with pink kebaya?

Hey, gotta be strong, gotta be strong

I have no idea why, but i'm already excited about the new year ahead. I'm not exactly a fan of new years, coz i think there's nothing particularly awesome about them. But so far, the new year has been good, so maybe it's a sign.

ALOT of things have happened since i last blogged, but by now i don't intend to spell everything out one by one.

One of the reasons why i'm blogging is that jaan misses it. So here's for you jaan, and i'm sorry if this entry is not "intelligent" enough for your liking.

New year usually means new resolutions, but i think resolutions are SO overrated. I mean, there was a year when i wanted to be a better Muslim and we all know whatever happened to that. I think the same year i wanted to be a better person, as in generally, but nah, that never work out for me.

Well, resolutions shouldn't only be made on new years anyway coz we don't exactly "renew" our life every Jan 1st. I choose to think that every new DAY is actually an opportunity for us to learn from mistakes and determine our future...And by now, my entry has become oh so boring.

What I can see in 2009 is lots and lots of new experience for me. And maybe even new people in life. Which is so good, coz my social circle is pathetically (is there such a word?) small now.

It has been a relaxed year and i don't particularly regret anything that happened coz the nasty things in life happen, ironically enough, for the good of everybody.

So guys,
1. Screw those people who have made you cry, coz they are so not worth it.
2. Have pride coz that is one of the things that you have that nobody can snatch.
2. Stop whining about life and start doing something productive.
3. Make sure you make time for your loved ones.
4. And just be merry...even if you not, just pretend, trust me it can make you feel slightly better.
